Best praise vs top criticism for Leatherman Juice CS4
“The blades lock, so legal to carry for use as part of a hobby or job, but NOT legal to carry “just in case”. Something like a Leatherman Juice would be perfect, having pliers, scissors, screwdrivers, and non-locking blades, but they’ve been discontinued for a few years. You might get lucky and find one in the shelf in a camping or hardware store. The Bond is advertised as UK-legal, and probably is, but some people argue that because you can’t close the blade without opening the handles, it could be considered a locking or fixed blade. Personally, I think the Bond is fine, but I also behave sensibly in the hope that it doesn’t get tested in court.”
“Well, the Skeletool is a great test of how little you "need". The only thing you're doing without from your list is the file, & you have a file on the Manager so that's less critical. The Skeletool is very handy, if a bit bulky for the toolset. The Juice CS4 is nice but I'll warn you it carries surprisingly heavy for its size. I have mine in a small toolbag because I dislike carrying it. All else being equal, if I were getting a pliers tool to extend an always-carried Manager, I'd probably go for a Leatherman Rebar, but if you specifically want something to slot under your Wave, the Bond might provide a clearer contrast to guide your next choice (As there will obviously be a next choice, otherwise you could just stop here & carry the Wave.)”
