Katabatic Gear Alsek

“You should take all of these temp ratings with a grain of salt and compare them on fill weight alone. A Katabatik Alsek regular width is rated to 22 degrees and contains 14.1 oz of 900 fill power down. An EE enigma 20 with 950 fill power contains 13.83 oz of down. I think the two specs wise are actually pretty comparable but the Alsek has some features others don’t, like their pad attachments and edge tension. I know EE is getting dogged here in this discussion but I recently made a spreadsheet comparing the Alsek, Enigma, and HG quilts. I found them all pretty damn similar in terms of specs and ended up just getting an HG and saving a big chunk of cash since the Enigma was 430$, the Alsek 439$, and the HG 950 311$.”
