“For me, Kafatek MC6 would be the end game conical grinder. But for most people, it's hard to beat the Niche Zero at its price point for traditional full bodied espresso, even in 2025. I love mine! In addition to making great espresso, it's easy to use, easy to clean, has great build quality, and has easy and repeatable adjustments. As you suspect, if you are into modern espresso made from lighter roasts, or also want to use the grinder for pour over, then you would be better served by a flat burr grinder. Keep in mind that if you are in the US, you can no longer buy a new Niche Zero, due to the China tariffs.”
“I have a Kafatek MC6 which is their conical version and it's awesome. It does light roasts really well too. As mentioned previously though if you're doing medium roasts and mild drinks a Flat MAX is kind of a waste of money.”
