Best praise vs top criticism for Giant Lifting 2X Adjustable Bench
“Just got the meat of my small gym finished with a power rack in the middle of the room. I left that extra space behind it because I have a 36" extension on the way which will almost take it wall to wall. I had measured incorrectly though, and didnt account for the 9" of extra space the lat pulldown will need to be able to fit 45lb plates on it. This will take me even closer to the wall than where you see it now with my bench only 5" away. On that note if any of you are from Seattle area and want to buy a brand new 36" x 90" extension still in the box for a titan x3 bolt down HMU. Id love to downsize to 24" instead and dont plan to put the extension on for another month. You might also notice my lat pulldown does not reach the top of the rack, I purchased the short on accident rather than the tall. This can be fixed with longer rods and Im talking to their customer service to get them, then I believe I will also just need a longer chain attaching the pulleys to the weights, although they have indicated just the rods is all I will need. These are some good examples of why taking your time and planning well ahead good ideas. I literally just now realized while typing this that I dont actually need to bench off what will be the middle post, I can turn my bench around and put the J-cups on the inside front for plenty of room. Despite my hang ups, this has still been a really fun process and shopping for gym items is a blast. Im thinking about something for cardio in the front left corner of the room, then it will basically be full. Otherwise I could do another smaller machine, something for my legs for example, but that will be later down the road. Listing everything I went, rounded including tax * Ram Board (goes under rubber mats) $35 * 4 x 3/4" rubber stall mats $220 * Bumper plates 260lb set $225 * Adjustable dumbells with stand $300 * Titan X3 with extension(not seen) and accessories $1900 * Giant lifting 2x adjustable bench $300 * Giant beater bar $140 Then for smell the horse stall mats were in my garage for a about a week, cleaned them with OdoBan, still smell some but I dont mind the smell. The bumper plates are worse, much stronger and not such a pleasant rubber smell. Im actually wondering if there is a clear coat I can safely put over them because they are so bad. They also came scuffed up and if you wipe them with a paper towel it rubs the rubber off in those spots leaving black marks. Dont cheap out on your plates guys.”
