“Disclaimer: I'm not a student, but a professor. I've noticed my students generally don't care about what other people wear and accessorize with, so long as it's cohesive. If you're going to wear a suit, sternum strap and waist straps wouldn't go. I see plenty of students walking around with sternum straps. Those with hip straps usually let them hang. If you want to fit in, go with the Fjallraven Kanken. They're nice bags, but everyone has one. All in all, confidence is always cooler than what's "in." Own your style with confidence and, as long as it's not offensive in some way, nobody will bat an eye. Students today are a hell of a lot less judgmental than people back in 2009 (I say that as someone who graduated that year).”
