“ **XM2w 4k - First Impressions:** **Shape:** \-The shape is nothing new, a tale as old as time, and a perfect ideology of 'if it works, don't fix or break it'. The legendary XM shape has been meta-defining, and is likely the reason why other companies (such as LAMZU with their initial Atlantis release) even got any sort of traction (since at that time people wanted a wireless XM shape mouse with modern specs). And now here we are. **Buttons:** \-Clicks are clean and precise. No insane pre- and post-travel. Best part? Both clicks sound the same. And are not widely varied (which is pretty rare from some other companies) \-The side bottons are great and crisp. The M4 (front) side button has a bit more post-travel compared to M5 (back), but tbh this is practically common on so many mice. It's likely a design thing. **Coating & QC:** \-The coating on the frost variants are slightly more rubberized. You definitely don't need grips for them. And I'm someone that typically prefers to use grips on my mice (see photos for comparison) \-Creaking: You may have heard about the creaking issue that some frost variants have. If I squeeze the back sides near the hump, there is some small creaking and pops (but nowhere near finalmouse's ULX initial batches of bad). But the amount of force I need to squeeze in order to get the creaks is way more than I would ever squeeze with normal use. In other words, you wouldn't notice it under everyday use. **Additional:** \-The matching receiver to the color of the mouse (and of course the carrying travel case) is definitely the cherry on the top. EGG definitely could have stayed simple and kept all receivers the standard black color. But the fact that it matches the translucent frost of the mouse makes it truly feel like a complete package. Overall, I'm excited to put a great deal of time on this mice, as I originally came from the XM1r years ago, and truly understood what EGG was all about. The release of the OP1- and XM- 8k wired variants, and now the and now the 4k wireless variants, is Endgame Gear's way of saying "we're not f\*\*kin around". And I'm all in on EGG stocks.
