Best praise vs top criticism for Echelon Smart Rower
โFirst of all congrats, you're doing fine and you can continue as are and will notice changes as your body adapts! Couple of things that may be useful if you really want to get into it. SS/UT2 has no definitive BPM it's different from person to person and varies on fitness. General rule of thumb is if you should just be able to hold a conversation. My UT2 is 160-165bpm If you're going off or HR I would recommend investing in a chest strap. Reason being chest straps are considerably more accurate and consistent than wrist watches/straps. When you're using HR as the foundation of your training it's worth investing. polar or wahoo have good ones. Workout length, Don't feel like you have to do 60 mins continuously. There's nothing wrong with doing 3 x 20 minutes or 3x4k. Your body's still going to get the same benefit. Re the water rower. Personally the smart rower upgrade isn't worth it. If you're starting to spend a lot of time on it and think it would be good to upgrade I would recommend looking at switching the water rower out for a concept 2. Important to say nothing wrong with the water towers but concept 2s have all the data you'll ever need, consistent, comparable etc etcโ
