tldr; Directional all-mountain ripper. Resort Magne-Traction holds ice well, floats powder decently. Stiff enough to charge, playful enough to have fun.

Best praise vs top criticism for Capita Aeronaut
“Watch out for board poaching... my son took my Aeronaut hostage and took some time to get it back! The hand-me-down story is great, though. Any time I get a new board I tell wife, ".. but I can share it ..."”
“From capita, I got a merc, an aeronaut this year, plus I’ve been on a bsod for a couple seasons too. I ride a lot so i get to put a lot of time on each board and get to ride a lot of boards and love comparing them. I was the most excited to try the aeronaut out of all of them, and at the beginning of the season i was very disappointed. It’s mid stiff, not nearly as stiff as it was made out to sound. It basically just seemed like your average cambered directional board with a lot of pop and a sidecut that sucks on ice. Ended up favoring the mercury by a mile. Later on at the end of the season, i pulled the aeronaut out again and had a totally different experience. This thing absolutely rips in the slush. The sidecut that i thought i hated just surfs mashed potato’s like its champagne powder. The extra pop from the upsidown v shaped camber helps get that extra bit of pop when it gets sticky. For my all mountain shenanigans, it was a dream. Big fast ollies, some side hit spins, slush carving. It felt alright at jibbing but i feel much more confident on my mercury for that. My local mountain is ice like 9/10 days until like February every year, and i am a pretty competent rider when it comes to shredding on ice. But i absolutely hated the way the aeronaut felt in the pre season ice. Tried to sell it many times, very glad i didn’t. Can’t wait to pull it out again next spring!”
