Best praise vs top criticism for BMC Roadmachine 01 THREE
“BMC are great bikes. The Roadmachine is a solid bike similar to the endurace it’s a fast endurance. Plus, it’s good to support the local shop. Having a relationship with them will pay off servicing the bike.”
“Thanks very much for your comment, great to know. How important is the exposed vs integrated cable distinction? I imagine it's mostly just an aesthetic thing right, and that by getting the newest gen it would kind of mean a huge $ increase for a fairly minute difference? I am probably going to go to a fitting and see what they make of me on a medium. Currently I ride a Specialized SL3 Tarmac size 56, however I have long legs proportionately so I found the reach too long even with an upturned stem. I ended up needing to get an 80mm stem at 7deg incline to make my reach comfortable - doing a bit of research this makes me a little more confident I could fit well on a medium despite being on the tall side, but I guess every bike is different. I'm also currently pursuing a deal to get a 2024 BMC Roadmachine Four for $4199 AUD new (US$2,749.50) which I think also would be a great deal, but there's only one in stock at size 54. I can also get a size 56 roadmachine for a few hundred extra, problem is there's nowhere I can actually test to see if that'll fit me. The Roadmachine is my preference but seeming like a pipe dream at the moment given the lack of stock to test my fit on! I would think 56 is a safe bet but I'm trying to avoid a shorter stem like I currently have, given the money I would be spending. Would love any additional thoughts you may have for me based on my current situation, thanks in advance!”
