Yes, your use case is a small fine dining restaurant, and not a coffee shop. IMHO, a consumer-level grinder still isn’t designed for serving that many people on a daily basis. You may be on a tiny budget, but as soon as the $400 Ode breaks under that kind of use—there goes your savings. The Forte BG is meant for the kind of light commercial use that your restaurant would likely engage in. It’s rated to grind 5 lbs of coffee per day, which should be more than sufficient. It can grind by weight, which would be excellent for a restaurant’s workflow. IMHO, the extra $500 would be well worth the investment—especially for a business like a restaurant.”

The forte grinds pretty slow and the ode is done grinding a second after you release the button in comparison. The forte also comes with a shit hopper that is popcorn madness so you need to replace it with an aftermarket single dose one. There is also an issue of beans getting stuck in the forte so you will lose a gram or gain a gram on most grinds. To sum it ip. The forte is a great grinder but it is best doing what it is supposed to do which is having a full hopper of beans and grinding by weight. For someone who single doses even if they were the same price i would recommend the ode. I also overall prefer the taste from the gen 2 ode burrs”
