Best praise vs top criticism for Baracuta G9 Harrington Jacket
“I have the Todd Snyder Dylan jacket in suede cappuccino (paid non-sale price $940 at the time). I love it going on 4 ish years. Perhaps one my most versatile and worn pieces. They do charge a good chunk, but when I compare it with my Baracuta suede jacket the little details are better on the TS (that said, I still wear the hell out of my Baracuta suede Harrington). The Dylan snaps are really good, the leather suede texture is very uniform, the interior pockets are nice, the lining in the sleeves is very comfy and the overall stitching is great. I think they make these in Italy, and while not all stuff I’ve gotten from TS is great quality the Dylan is. I’m very happy. I have a couple quince shirts and they’re nice, so perhaps that jacket is nice too. But honestly I think the Dylan looks better and detailed to my eye. The chest pockets are less bulky, the cut and trim slightly better. But, I’m sure 99% or people may not notice those differences. As with all things, what does your budget say and what would make you happy? If I had to do it again, I’d buy the TS again. Cheers!”
“Baracuta G9 bar none. For me because the sleeves are the right length. But I really like the double zipper when I sit/drive and umbrella flap in the back. I've tried many other ones -- Lacoste, Ben Sherman, Fred Perry, J. Crew, Ralph Lauren.. I end up going back to Baracuta. Wasted all that money on derivatives, trying to save a few bucks, but when the OG served me just right. The thing that put me off on the other jackets were little annoyance like thickness/weight of the cotton like Ralph Lauren and Lacoste which felt too heavy. Or the flimsy zippers or single zipper design on J.Crew.”
