tldr; Top-tier gaming performance with RTX 4080/4090. Excellent display and cooling. Loud fans and heavy but worth it for gamers.

Best praise vs top criticism for Asus ROG Strix Scar 16 (2023)
“Lenovo consistently puts out good products year after year. Good thermals. Great performance. Prices are on the higher side but not outrageous. Best to buy one when you can stack multiple coupons and take advantage of cash back offers through Rakuten, PayPal, etc. Asus Strix Scar laptops haven't had the best cooling in the past, but the current generation Scar 16 is really great, more or less on par with Lenovo. Alienware goes for a more premium look and feel, but in my opinion you kind of pay more for the name and same performance you can get elsewhere. They are however backed by Dell's great warranty. I have an Alienware OLED monitor which I specifically chose because Dell offers burn in warranty for 3 years whereas other monitor brands didn't. Razer has historically focused on aesthetics over quality and cooling. I'll be honest I don't know how their current laptops are, but in the past I've read lots of complaints. You can look at [this list of posts](https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLaptops/comments/17ku52z/final_battle_razer_blade_16_or_lenovo_legion_7i/k7j3f8a/) where people have shared issues... there are a lot. Maybe theyre better nowadays, and you'll likely save some money getting one, but I'd get an extended warranty juat to be sure. This is just my 2 cents, everyone tends to have their favorite brands.”
“I had a disagreement with a kid in another thread and now they're downvoting all my comments lol, it's pretty funny 😂 I really hate that question because there are so many factors, like fan noise, temperatures, performance, power limits. That said, I have tried to make a formula that takes all of these things into account, and you can compare all the laptops we've reviewed in terms of 'best cooling' here: [https://laptoppicker.com/best-gaming-laptops/cooling](https://laptoppicker.com/best-gaming-laptops/cooling) just change the GPU drop down to 5090. Looks like it's the ASUS Scar 16/18, if you don't want to try out my new tool.”
