It boils the water to produce humidity, instead of most portable humidifier who use ultrasonic vibrations which aerosolize the dissolved minerals along with water molecules. No tanks to refill, as it's plumbed directly into a cold water line, which was a **huge** selling point for me. On the downside, it will increase your electrical bill substantially.”
