Best praise vs top criticism for AIRCARE 831000
“I recently bought a few, all of them ended up being a little different in how they worked so this is what I have gathered from using them all. The first one I got was the aircare space saver humidifier, it is the simplest and quietest. It is basically just a big bucket, fits 6 gallons, and the wick sits in the water, and fan on top. On low fan speed you barely notice it, louder of course on high speed which is one reason I got a second console unit as it couldn't keep up when it got colder even on high speed. So I got the Holmes console unit which has two 2 gallon tanks that you fill up and place in the machine and the water dispenses as its needed, the 2 wicks just sit in the water like the other one. However, if you are sensitive to noise then the tanks can be annoying since you hear the gulping sound as the water dispenses from the tanks every few minutes, had to move mine to the dining room as it was very noticeable even with the tv on in my living room. But other than that it works great, and the two of them together have been keeping my two story little over 2000sq house in the comfort zone without having to be on high fan setting, no problem this week with the artic air too. I have them both on the first floor on opposite sides of the stair well, I have forced air on the second floor so when the heat comes on it helps disperse the humidity on that floor, first floor has baseboard but its open floor plan so no issue with any dry spots. The third one I got for my bedroom is a pedestal type and it pumps the water to spray it over the wick instead of the wick just siting in the water. This is the loudest, has a tank too but doesn't make a noticeable glugging sound, but the water falling onto the wick does. And it is constant. From reading up on that Levoit 6000 sounds like it might work in the same fashion so just take that into consideration that it could sound like a fountain in your house. I actually still have a couple of weeks to return this one and probably will since the two on the first floor are actually keeping the second floor good so don't really need one for the bedroom anymore.”
