Best praise vs top criticism for 1Zpresso Q2
“I’m not just saying this. It’s totally fine and perfectly acceptable. I grind it with my 1zpresso Q2 every morning and brew with an Aeropress (200 degree water, 100g water then 10 sec stir, finish with 250 g water total to 16g of beans) and it tastes absolutely great. I definitely pick up boutique beans here and there from my local coffee shops but as a daily driver bean? It’s totally fine! Tastes miles better than most coffee out there. Clearly they aren’t the freshest beans in the world, as I’m sure the bags sit at the Walmart distribution centers for a while. But again, for the money, it’s totally good.”
“thanks for the answer! yeah i realize besides the fact that it's a grocery store bean, i think i just bought a way too dark of a roast. i like the kind of creamy texture that the moka pot produces so i was just going for that. from the taste profiles you were giving i should go for more of a medium roast though. the next coffee related investment is definitely going to be a better hand grinder. i got one last year for christmas (brand is lambda, i don't even know if anyone knows this brand, certainly never saw that name pop up anywhere) and it's a pretty bad ceramic burr hand grinder (cannot even make a v60 without being basically bean juice or creating a swamp in the filter). i was thinking about a kingrinder k6 or 1zpresso q ultra. until then i will just live with my misery and try to not throw away these beans since i hate waste more than a bad cup of coffee.”
