Just need to buy the hardwire kit and have it installed or diy if you are mechanically inclined. +4 pts“I've been having an issue ever since weather has even moderately warmed up: the A229 Pro powers on when I start the car, but within a minute, chimes noise as it powers back down. No type of indicator showing an overheat issue or any other error codes. If I unplug the cord and plug it back in, it will stay on the rest of the drive. This is not an issue that ever happens when its below 60 degrees outside. Only when it is warm and the sun is out. For reference I reformatted my SD card and I have been using viofo wires and the viofo cigarette lighter adapter for power. Very frustrating since it ruins the reliability of having a dash cam. Given the cost of the A229 pro, it should run flawlessly.”

+7 pts“Based on what you are after, thinkware u3000 or vueroid d21 4k. Both devices are very low maintenance. There is no need to wipe the sd card Both have impact recording capabilities (low power mode and energy saving 2.0) where the camera will wake up on impact only. Thinkware is 1 second, and Vueroid is 2seconds wake up time. Thinkware has a radar parking mode. In this mode, the camera goes to deep sleep until motion is detected within its FOV. The camera wakes up and records. The suggestions for viofo are good too, but not exactly what you're after. Negatives, being it doesn't offer impact based recording only. The camera would be on continuously, so only expect 4h or less of parking recording unless you add a battery pack. An additional home surveillance system pointing at the street will also help.”
