Thinkware U1000 vs Vantrue N4

“I have a Vantrue N4 in one car and Viofo A229 Pro in another car. If I were to do it again I’d get the Viofo in both cars. I like that the Viofo sits right against the windshield flush and is more low profile than the Vantrue. The Vantrue is quite bulky in its current form and obstructs my view a bit. I like that the Viofo has an app that you can use to pull footage without having to pull the SD card. I think the Viofo has better video quality, partly because the camera lens sits closer to the windshield than the Vantrue. Also I can run 4K with a front/rear setup where I cannot with the Vantrue (only 2k when running front/interior/rear). The Viofo comes with a polarizing filter which makes glare less of an issue which I’ve had in the Vantrue. I do like the voice command with the Viofo even though they can be inconsistent. I don’t know anything about the Viofo longevity, I’ve only had it a few months. My Vantrue hasn’t let me down in 2 years (including parking mode). But I do like the Viofo more so far for the above reasons.”

“The U1000 is the most over-rated high end(priced) dashcam. I had better results from a Viofo which was 1/3rd the cost.”
