β€œThere’s a reason.. Rockwell is a great razor, at a reasonable price, and it comes with different plates to find the right level of aggression for each individual.. typically bought after lurking this sub-Reddit and finding the Majority of wet-shavers would concur it is a great option for a β€œStarter kit” doesn’t scare off newbs, and once you get the hang of things, you can use the 5 and 6 plates to achieve a more efficient shave. Stirling Soaps are also highly regarded in the community, and when you are new to the hobby and seeing as many people recommend Stirling Soaps as more expensive brands like Barrister, A&E, Noble Otter and such.. it just makes sense to go with the company that seems to offer better value/bang for your buck, as they haven’t yet experienced… the rabbit hole!”

β€œI saved what mailman169 wrote on just this sunject. I hope he doesn't mind me sharing: Had a chance to use the .68, and I like it a lot better than the 6c. Here is why: 1. It is a lot thinner than the 6c. This makes it easier to shave under the nose. 2. There is more gap under the blade so that hair doesn't get stuck. With the 6c, I had to sometimes unscrew the plate to get hair out when my hair was a bit longer. Hair rinses right out with the GC. 3. The 6c isn't wide enough to hold the entire blade, so it sticks out slightly on the ends. This can cut just because the blade is so thin. The GC is slightly wider to cover the width of the blade. 4. As for shave quality, the GC felt so smooth (I used a wilkenson blade). I also felt I would never cut myself. I could have probably gone a little more aggressive, but I am okay with what I have. I might get the next level plate to go with it. Overall, I am really happy with the GC and Idk if I will use the 6c anymore.”

β€œSame. 1 pass with an R41 and feather blade is enough to look really decent. Even if you achieve BBS, you lose that in about 3-5 hours, is it really worth the extra irritation and effort?”

β€œI have retired my R41 in favor of both a Parker Semi and a RR German 37 for more than two days growth. Looking for a Stainless slant now, something more aggressive. I am about to list a lot of hardware on Shave Bazaar, getting rid of everything except my Gillette Vintage Slims and Slants. I'm satisfied with those three, tired of looking, buying, trying, selling. πŸ˜β€
