I've had the same Humanscale Freedom chair for 7 years and it still looks brand new...and it has a 15 year warranty, so not really worried. Didn't have the same luck with Aeron (seat wore away within the first couple of years...known issue)...Knoll chair I had before that squeaked like hell and got "loose" over time (like within the first year)...they don't even make it anymore and it was their "main" chair for a few years. I loved my Humancsale chair so much, I started using their other products and appreciate their focus on ergonomics and quality no matter what product of theirs I purchase.

There's a snake in my chair! Can confirm it definitely is not normal and is nearly 100% likely to be a cylinder issue. This defect is covered under Humanscale's manufacturer warranty, would strongly recommend just taking it back for a refund/replacement. To my understanding Humanscale has been finding new suppliers for various parts post pandemic, perhaps this was a bad batch. Very unfortunate experience.

Tell me you don't know how chatgpt works without telling me you don't know how chatgpt works. Also, I consider myself a somewhat participant user of this sub for years and I always recommend the 3 following cheap choices: - Ikea Markus for the cheapest, half-decent, 10y warranty chair, without taking much account for ergonomics of different people (no adjustable arms, lumbar, or headrest, but does have non adjustable of them all. Consistent seal and half durable mesh). Available everywhere - Ikea Jarv for a slight upgrade that is slightly adjustable on all the Markus regards, but doesn't have great armrests or a modern tilt (but passable) - any used top tier chair which can go from a few hundred to literally 20 bucks. We see people's listings here for Zodies, Leaps, even Aerons for under 100 bucks.

I don’t like either of them, but I was at least able to sit in a Titan for a while. My body rejected the Markus the moment I plopped down in it. These are very different chairs. How did you narrow your selection down to them in particular, vs any of the myriad other chairs on the market?
