However, especially with Leatherman you don't have to buy a brand new tool. Their warranty doesn't ask for proof of purchase. And you can likely find a wave for half price or less, if you look.”

“I have a painted WorkPro multi tool and the tool itself is great but the paint sucks. Brand new out of the box it had a couple of small chips ( it’s the red version) I got 2 replacements and each one was worse than the original so I kept the original. Lesson learned don’t buy painted multi tools, anodized maybe but not painted. Every time I pull it out of the sheath another little chip of paint fall off and I have barely used this tool for other than breaking down a few boxes.”
