“Ignore the idiots OP, just because some people got a good set doesn't mean the QC doesn't seem to be shit and there are some people who just can't accept that it's not user error. FT1/FT1 Pro QC just seems to be a hit or miss. I have the same issue as you, got my FT1 a week ago, the screw on the exact same spot is broken for me. I recorded the whole thing, from unboxing it to discovering the right ear cup was loose, then finding the broken screw and the washer in the box. Packaging was solid, the case is amazing, but that nut was broken inside the case. I am waiting for the vendor to look at the whole video and get back to me about a possible replacement, but its Christmas week and I am stuck. It's bad for you though, mine's just a personal splurge and not a gift for someone else.”

“This isn't Amazon's issue by the way, it's Hifiman. So many instances of them packaging the wrong version of a headphone in the box. They have so many "refurbished" and "open box" items in their warehouse, I'm convinced they often package those up as new and sometimes make mistakes. It's really unacceptable, and this is in addition to their lackluster QC. I feel like it's a total crapshoot when you order a Hifiman headphone whether you'll 1) get the right headphone in the box and 2) whether it will have QC issues.”
