What it does have is laser specle, a weird artifact of rgb laser projectors. Looks kinda like a weird film grain that glitters - it is especially bad with an alr screen. Btw - the hookup, a popular review channel on YouTube, tested the epson ls12000 against the valerion pro2 which won by such a wide margin that angry commenters made him re-do the comparison. Same result. I wouldn't get the epson even if it was half price.”

The limitations of the human eye means it still looks glorious - fron the seated position. Sure, you can see a difference up close and all but still. But either way... if you buy a good projector today it's 4K so the discussion is academic. 8K however would be total horseshit in just about every way...”

I have an Epson LS800 and a decent 120" ALR screen and I love the picture, but I can hear the fan during quiet scenes from around 12 feet away, even on the lowest setting. I am particularly sensitive though, maybe from spending so many years trying to build the quietest possible PC. I'll go back to a (long throw) projector when I move somewhere I can have a dedicated space and can build an enclosure/hush box into a wall.”
