Casio G-Shock vs Omega Seamaster Diver 300M

“Help a guy out, anyone? I was in service for 12 years. Started as a tank driver, and worked my way up to 1SGT and ran a company of 140 troops. Never in my career have I ever used a mechanical watch out in the field. It’s mostly G-shocks. Crossed paths with Infantry and SF, and they mostly wore Garmin. And still, if there’s going to be a mission that ran several days…G-shock is still the way to go. So……my question is why and what’s the use?”

“Yes. Despite being beautiful pieces, Omega’s sport watches are first, and foremost, tool watches. They are meant to be used. My Speedmaster and Seamaster both get regular use and get banged up a little. I wear them to the range, the gym, hiking, swimming (not the Speedy), etc. They’ve both got plenty of scratches. In fact, I forgot to take the Seamaster off while climbing one time and got a particularly nasty scratch on the clasp.”
