+1 ptsâDid you have to replace the rtc and supercap due to the heat or something else? Did you replace it under warranty and what was that process like? I'm possibly looking at the 770x Box version if I can get a deal on it. All the components are in a box that you put in your glove compartment so that's a way safer bet than having it on your windshield getting fried. My only concern is what is it's only 1080p despite the $500+ price tag which is ridiculous. They could've made it at least 2k res at that price.â

+33 ptsâAfter lots of research myself, I have the Viofo A119 mini 2 that has the Sony Starvis 2 sensor and itâs been great (my SD card is a 64gb SanDisk MAX Endurance). I like that itâs compact, and always works. Itâs worked during the summer (95+°F days) and even with it freezing overnight now itâs had no issues. I determined in my research that this one was the best value for the money and anything with better video quality at even $300 was going to have negligible benefits. When blind comparing videos from the Viofo A119 mini 2 to other $300 dash cams, you could hardly tell the difference.â

Many people in this sub praise the Viofos for their video quality, but at the same time you will find many posts about batteries being killed by Viofos. I've yet to see a post where a Thinkware (mine has onboard voltage monitoring) killed a battery. If you're looking for a safe replacement, maybe find one that doesn't depend on a $5 power adapter.â
