“its ayt, i got acer aspire 5 i5 8250u, it stop charging for weeks, recently tried and hoped the charging port was out, but didnt fix it. Strangely enough my dad said change the charger. I checked it with multimeter and ye he was right. Im using a acer charger with low amperage, but it charges now. The cpu isnt great, wish i took the i7 instead. My pc isnt great build quality. I too would like to upgrade soon, but we'll see! When this dies all get a lenovo thinkpad t-series or dell latitude (maybe hp elitebook). I read that business laptops are super reliable! Enjoy”

“Haha, I know how it feels man. Unfortunate mistake though, it's not exactly your fault so don't beat yourself up about it. The lost money is a downside, but at least now you know what not to go for in a laptop in the future. Also, what the actual fuck is that dismal 42wh battery?! No wonder your battery life is horrible with that small ass battery. Definitely look for a different laptop and do NOT replace the battery. I use an Acer Swift X 14 (SFX 14-71G-55SR) and it's working wonders. Battery life on it is also shaky though, due to it having an RTX 4050 and an i5 13500H, but through some managing it gets you through the day. Performance is really good, so maybe look into that! I live in Europe and got it from Amazon for 1k on a lightning deal (original price is 1.4k) so it might be hard to find, but try your luck. If you're in America, you could find craze deals on Best Buy etc. so be on the lookout. “I think it was like an HP notebook 15 or something. I no longer have it so I don't know the model number but I remember it being called that. From around 2012 I think. Then I had a Samsung Notebook 9 which I would still be using but it stopped working for awhile (it works now kinda). Now I have an Acer Swift x14 which is honestly a curse because within a year of owning it the battery went bad and is already at 6% wear after a couple of months being replaced.”
