Since lots of gels act like you described on my hair (gross feeling, drying) but the ones that work - don’t do that to me. For example a lot of popular ones suggested here just don’t work for me bounce curl, miss jessies, uncle funky, nym hard hold, zotos (sally beauty), and most drugstore stuff tbh. The only ones that I found work after trying hair products for a while are briogeo, the verb foaming gel (old formula), ag foaming gel. I also like the pattern mousse and the leave in (which also has hold). In the beginning of my journey - my hair sucked and every gel I tried just sucked lol. It’s been 4 years and only this year have I found my products lol”
