Best praise vs top criticism for Timeless Razor Shaving Bowl
“Razors are can be very different and it's fun to try them out, compare their differences, and see what I like or dislike about them. I think it's especially interesting to try and compare different blade formats - DE, Schick, GEM, Artist Club, etc. Straight razors are an entirely different experience altogether. I have purchased a total of 19 safety razors so far and have 15 left in the collection. Most were purchased with some specific goal in mind: * A Henson AL-13 Mild was my first safety razor. I gave this one to my youngest son. * A Rockwell 6S was my first multi-plate razor to experiment with different levels of efficiency/aggression. I recently gave this away as part of a a PIF. * Parker Variant Open Comb to try out a true dial adjustable. I recently sold this. * A Henson AL-13 Aggressive because I learned from the Rockwell and the Parker) that I liked the lighter weight of aluminum but needed something more aggressive than the AL-13 Mild. * A Timeless Aluminum and Aylsworth Apex Aluminum because they were inexpensive on r/Shave_Bazaar and were aluminum with alignment tabs instead of pegs (I've learned from the Rockwell and Parker that this is the style of modern razor I like). I sold the Aylsworth as it was too similar to the AL-13 Aggressive that I use. I'm keeping the Timeless for now (I like the thick handle). * A Parker Semi-slant to try out the slant razor format. I prefer lighter razors, so I'm selling this one on r/Shave_Bazaar. * A Gillette Slim and Black Handle Flare Tip because I was interested in vintage safety razors and they were my birth-quarter razors. * I eventually added a Gillette Fat Boy to keep the Slim company and because I really like that design and it was an absolutely gorgeous razor at a good price. * A Schick Type G to try a single edge razor. I eventually got a Schick Adjustable to keep it company and to explore the Schick format a little more. * A GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip (Flying Wing) and Micromatic Open Comb to try out the GEM single edge format. I recently added a GEM Feather Weight because it was light weight and used different construction techniques/materials (stamped metal instead of cast). The Feather Weight is my favorite of the three I think. * A Gillette Fat Handle Tech because I want to feel what a Gillette 3-piece razor shaves like (also I like beefy handles). I added a Travel Tech because it was another birth-quarter razor. * A Blackland Batch #003 (Aluminum Blackbird) because I've always wanted a Blackbird Ti (because of the lighter weight) and the price of the Batch #003 was more in my range. * An Oliworks M3terorite Aluminum because it was free and it was aluminum. Although I love it, I'm planning to give it to my older son as it's a very gentle razor and I think the mild plate would be a good place for him to start. I've started a collection of straight razors to possibly complete Brad Maggards [Seven Types of straight razors](https://www.reddit.com/r/Wetshaving/s/xn7V3jg4ig) li”
“I use Merkur, Karve and Muhle myself, but my friend upgraded from a mild aluminum Henson to a Medium Ti and he's loving it. He says he'll never buy another razor again. I believe Henson AL is 37 grams, while titanium is 78 grams. I prefer 100 grams, so I am all about steel. At that price range, there are some phenomenal options: Blackbird, Karve, and Timeless.”
