Best praise vs top criticism for Sony Alpha a37
“I'm currently using a Sony a37 with a mount lenses, mostly Minolta, tamrons and a couple of quantarays. It's an older model body but for me, as a beginner in the world of DSLR and slt, it's a pretty great starter to learn on. Only downsides really are the aps-c sensor being 16mp and the older version of AF. Any older Sony body should work for you starting out and I'd recommend the a37 because you can snag em pretty cheap. I got mine for 100$ with only 6600 on the shutter. If I had the money I'd spring for an old a6000 or 6400 or one of those types and just get the mount to a mount adaptor but that's more like 4-600$. I'm also finding it pretty easy to pick up lenses for cheap because the a mount system sort of phased out. So in like two weeks I went from only a Sony kit lens to 8 lenses total including a couple of nice primes and a decent macro lens. I'm pretty new to all this though so take my advice with a grain of salt, I can only speak on what I'm using and trying.”
“In my case, it's my nephew. Plus, I had been thinking of giving some time to photography for a while now, I wanted to use my old sony slt a37 but it completely gave up on me.”
