Best praise vs top criticism for Sony a7S II
“It was a decent budget, but I'm not rich by any means. My buying spree was owed to the fact that I was visiting Australia and their currency was surprisingly weak so I got the a7sii and the two lenses 40% off (in total) compared to what it would cost at home. I just capitalized on this opportunity and used some of my savings.”
“A7Rii>>>A7ii>A7sii A7Rii's BSI sensor make readouts fast enough to have object tracking(not the even better real-time tracking however) though, however that doesn't work in video mode. A7ii only gets the finicky center lock-on tracking mode, but at least still have phase detection down to F8(same as rii). A7sii doesn't have any phase detect AF, meaning lenses with slow AF motors(like the FE 50mm F1.8) will become even slower as they rely on contrast detect and needs to continuously rack focus.”
