Best praise vs top criticism for Sony a7CR
“I don’t see how you’d upgrade your camera for only $400 from an A7IV to an A7CR. The A7IV is often discounted to $2100 *new* these days, so the used value means you’d probably be looking at $1000+ difference unless you’re still in the return window for your A7IV. I also think you’re overestimating the difference in resolution. If you take a 61MP photo with the A7CR at 400mm and crop that to an equivalent of a 600mm lens, you’d be left with 27MP… which is less than you’d have with your 33MP sensor on a 600mm lens. And saying it’s “only” 600mm dismisses the fact that you *can* use a teleconverter like you’re already doing. TCs are problematic in general, but you seem happy with your current experience, so I can’t imagine it would be much different on the 200-600.”
“I went for the A7CR for my second body. I like it quite a bit, but the only downside is the lack of CF.A support, so I'm forced to use SD cards. Blackout shooting sucks for sports when you're used to the A1, so keep that in mind. I tried using it when I went to F1 and regretted not bringing my A1 instead.”
