Best praise vs top criticism for Smart Air Blast Mini
“Hi, so sorry you’re dealing with LC and an unsafe work environment, so stressful! Others may be able to offer better advice, but my suggestion is to try the SA600 or the blast mini from smart air - both of which are in budget, quiet, and powerful enough for your office room. You could also get a small portable device like the QT3 to have near you on your desk (it needs to be plugged in or attached to a power bank if you want it to last more than 2-4 hours). Re positioning, I think the best thing is to have it away from the windows and not too close to walls to allow for good air circulation. Other than this I don’t think positioning matters that much. Opening windows regularly as you already do is great and adding a purifier to this mix will keep the space much safer. You could also invest in a co2 monitor that will let you know when you need to ventilate (sars2 is most transmissible when co2 is high). I’m sure you already know this but just in case- the single most effective thing you can do to reduce your risk of infection at work is wear a well fitting respirator (FFP3 or higher). I know some people aren’t allowed to at work though, which is awful. Lastly, do you know berlin buyers club? They campaign on behalf of people living with LC in Germany. Worth checking out!”
“When people suggest turning of plasma wave and other ionizers, what they don’t tell you is that CADR is stated with the ionizer on. Turning off the ionizer means the CADR will be way less. For example this study of Blueair https://www.built-envi.com/wp-content/uploads/IIT-CADR-Testing-Blueair-211-August-2021.pdf My suggestion is avoid units with ionizers all together. Look at Smart Air, Blast Mini is probably in your budget depending on your location.”
