Best praise vs top criticism for Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee
“No need for specs. Just wanted to know if it was a Switch, PS, PC, Xbox... Here are a few recomendations : Closed : * DT770 + amp + external mic (great bass and comfort, but non detachable long cable if you get the 80 or 250 Ohm versions), * ModHouse Argon MK3 * HyperX Cloud Alpha (more budget oriented but still a great choice) * MH752 (more budget oriented but still a great choice) OPEN : * PC38x(although its predecessor the PC37x is going for 90$ on drop as of today) * X2HR(great imaging, fantastic bass) * Beyerdynamic TYGR (these are headphones specifically made for gaming and I think they are on amazon in a bundle with a really good mic for 300) * DT880 600 Ohm + amp (really good headphones but need a powerful amp to get the most out of them) * HD58x + external mic * HD6xx + amp + external mic External Mics : Antlion ModMic (goes with everything), VModa BoomPro (only goes with headphones with a 3.5mm input) Side note : you may have noticed I don't specify any amps. That's because I don't know enough about them. Just created another post with : What should I get with this pair and the more experienced members of the community may help. Also recommend posting in r/HeadphoneAdvice. Edit : Oh wait didn't see the wireless part. Oops, if he doesn't want any wireless headphones here's a list of good wired headphones. For wireless : HyperX Cloud Flight Arctis Wireless lineup GSP 670 Logitech G Pro X Wireless”
“You already have a mic, so don't buy a headset! Audio Technica M40x, or of you can pull a few more bucks the Sengeiser HD58x is awesome for gaming. Since you play fps titles you probably like surround sound, so I'm gonna clear something up about that real quick. Real surround sound does not exist in headphones. It's all in the software. And the software that does that is usually Dolby atmos. You can get Dolby atmos on pc and use it with anything, so there is actually no point whatsoever to buy a gaming headset when you have another mic and can run virtual surround anyways. I used to own Astros, hyperx, turtle beach, and a skullcandy headset, in the past. Still have the Astros. Now I use HD58x, and have m40x's for the road. Even for gaming, the HD58x is so much better than the Astros, and as long as virtual surround is on the m40x's are too.”
