tldr; Bass-forward open-back. Fun sound, wide stage. V-shaped for gaming.

Best praise vs top criticism for Philips Fidelio X2HR
“X2HR isn't exactly a cheaply built headphone. It's made pretty damn well. I had a pair for around 3-4 years, and never really had an issue with them. I don't know what this person was doing, but they had to have run these over with a car or something lol”
“I have the x2hr and feel the same way. These are heavily v-shaped headphones so mids sometimes sound recessed, and the huge soundstage honestly work against it except for some use cases. I listen primarily to heavy metal, where technical performance such as imaging, separation, and overal timbre and treble/bass quality are extremely important, and these don't really do well for that. Even for gaming they aren't particularly good for anything but soundstage, my dt 770 has better imaging and detail retrieval and not exactly terrible soundstage or directionality for being closed back, and except for the x2hr, the dt 770s are the worst headphones I have. TLDR: Don't believe the constant parroting on this subreddit.”
