Best praise vs top criticism for Nuna SWIV
“Curious why people don’t really talk about the Swiv?? We like the 360 wheel option and the profile when it folds as compared to the Triv, but I’m second guessing myself because no one talks about the Swiv! I guess one thing I’m willing to justify is cost of a stroller we’ll use for several years because we’re trying to buy most other things secondhand, so maybe it’s the cost to benefit ratio for most people?”
“Short answer: I got the Uppababy Cruz v2 and just ordered the Uppababy Aria, which should get here this week. I got an UP bassinet used; I know that's a risk. Long answer: The Cruz I got at an independent baby shop - it was her very last floor model and UB had just told her they were pausing wholesale orders, so she directed us to their website or Nordstrom. We liked the Nuna Mixx in-store. We tried it out at Nordstrom, we really thought my husband would like the Swiv but he didn't once he tried it) and he was really leaning towards the Nuna Pipa Aire (it's lightweight but felt durable) but I was reading here on reddit of their terrible customer service. I also met a few moms in-person who loved their Uppababy strollers/sets, so that sold me. We ordered the Aria car seat through Nordstrom because we actually really liked the sales guy- he talked us through their choices, sent us a link with what we talked about, then was totally accommodating when I said I changed my mind and he sent me a new link with the Aria. I wanted the link because he gets a commission. He even let us know when prices would be going up, which I also saw on Jamie Grayson's Facebook (he's a CPST) and on r/buyingforbaby Other car seats my husband researched and liked were the Chicco Keyfit 365 and the Evenflo Pivot, though we didn't see those in-store. The only place we could find to test budget strollers (like Graco and Evenflo) was Target and their floor models seemed kind of flimsy or bulky; but maybe they were kind of beat up from being floor models? Admittedly I'm also a fairly petite person with weak noodle arms so a heavy stroller was a struggle. But I don't think you NEED a $700 stroller, like I don't know if it's really $500 better than the $200 stroller; it does feel luxurious as hell. I kinda wish we had tried some other brands just to try them, but he did the real research of specs/safety ratings/reviews/watching YouTube videos of people folding and unfolding them etc.”
