“I cannot believe this question right now. My wife and I treated ourselves to a new Ninja XL Pro for Xmas about ten days ago. I decided to christen it gently today by heating leftover frittata. Interwebs said preheat for three minutes so I did. I walk back into a kitchen filled with smoke, which is pouring out the top back vent of the fryer. I think quickly, “oh a lemon, great.” Pull out the basket to find a smoldering pile of embers that had been the user manual. I left it in there, I didn’t remember, I didn’t check the basket. I am so in the doghouse because the people house reeks of smoke. I thought fast, covered it, got outside, put it out. Somehow the smoke detectors weren’t triggered. But I am certainly not getting any hero points. Wifey IS very triggered. BTW, totally cleaned up the basket and the tray and the interior and the XL Pro warmed the frittata like a champ. Still, fuck me.”
“I just bought the Ninja Foodi 10-in-1. I like it. Pros: It is large. I can use it as a small oven to avoid having to heat up my full size oven. I use the multi-function to cook and reheat all kinds of things. All of the controls are push-button (I had multiple Cuisinart air fryers fail due to a malfunctioning dial.) Cons: It is pretty loud. The fan sounds like it’s trying to take off. It’s tolerable to me, though.”
