“As a former CS student I wouldnt recommend macOS. A small portion of my projects required windows, we could use bootcamp but that's not an option now. If you're used to macOS the m3 air is a great choice. I would definitely recommend that kind of thin and light. On the Microsoft side anything with an i5 or Ryzen 5 + 16gb RAM will be perfect. If your budget is in the range of an M3 pro another fantastic option is the new snapdragon windows PCs. These are ARM like the apple M3 and give you amazing performance and battery on a windows laptop. An added benefit here is the 16gb/1tb models are in the same price range as a 8gb/256gb M3 air. Some ones to checkout is the Lenovo yoga slim 7 or surface laptop.”
“I have a Lenovo yoga 7 now and I hate it. After 6 months the touch pad died and it runs extremely slow. It's a 2 in 1, but I would never get another yoga after this experience. The HP omnibook 5 seems to be a good option, but my knowledge on laptops is limited and looking at the makes, models and specs really confuses me.”
