Best praise vs top criticism for Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 5
“P-series thinkpads with NVIDIA dGPUS just make sure to watch reviews and see if the cooling solution is enough for you (talking about the P1 which is thin). Get them used ideally or hunt for deals as they can be expensive if bought straight from the website. They're business laptops with extensive maintenance and repair documentation. Great linux compatibility; reliable machines overall and lenovo support is decent if they're still under warranty. I have a 7th gen P1 and it does just what you said - but hits the thermal limit pretty quickly.”
“This is all assuming you have a drawing tablet aka not needing a touchscreen. I'd go with Thinkpad P1 gen 2, Thinkpad P15 gen 2 or Thinkpad P15 gen 1. All of these are business grade and pretty reliable and are under $500 used. As for new, I'd buy the Asus tuf gaming A15. The gaming laptop might be power hungry, but it'll breeze through Photoshop. If you decide to pick something else, avoid no name brands, proccesors like the intel N(numbers),AMD A series (A3, A4 etc.) any pentiums or celerons. And I'd steer away from HP due to their hinges being fragile, especially the cheaper models. Also avoid TN displays. Most new laptops come with a SSD but you should double check it has one”
