Best praise vs top criticism for Keychron K8 Pro
“"Expensive" at home, cheap at the office, so two of these. I'm using a Keychron K8 Pro with Gateron Aliaz 100g switches at home, love the heavy typing feeling. At the office it's a quiet AliExpress GMK67 with Outemu Silent Grey switches.”
“I've been looking to build a really nice keyboard for someone recently and been having trouble finding the perfect keyboard. They need a JIS layout TKL like the Keychron k8 pro which I bought and tried to build. It doesn't sound very good and I want to find a better quality case like neo80 or something similar. The problem is finding a compatible pcb. The PCB from the K8 that I bought has a weird 10 pin jst connection. Unless I figure out how to work with converting that to the standard jst connection, I don't think this is the best option. I also bought a Filco Majestouch with the right layout but the issue is this one has a 5 pin jst connection and has weird(terrible) plate stabs. Unless I find a better plate with the right layout and mounts for the stabs, I don;t think this is usable. Is there a pcb out there that has the same layout and can fit in most tkls? Or should I figure out the jst issue? Thanks, would really appreciate any advice! https://preview.redd.it/9dh5ulym3r4e1.png?width=1214&format=png&auto=webp&s=277b01451e8be18ac20e3c690870710ef340672a”
