+3 pts“From what I understand all the built in particle/voc readers are unreliable. Don’t use or trust them. If your main issue is the varnish smell then the only thing going to help is the carbon filter. I have the same Honeywell 5300 and the good news is the carbon filters do have a good bit of carbon in them compared to most. Assuming you bought the official ones. So those should help with that for a few days/weeks before they get saturated. As for the dust that will also be handled by the Honeywell so wouldn’t worry about that as long as you leave it on medium/high. Again my own unit does pretty good with that as well but it’s louder. I wouldn’t worry about asbestos that’s really only a concern if you’ve been breathing it in for years. So if that’s already been remediated no worries.”
