Best praise vs top criticism for Hoka Gaviota 5
“I got to try on a Test pair of the Hurricane 24’s recently. I didn’t get a run in but they felt very comfortable and stable. It reminded me a lot of the Hoka Gaviota 5, being a large shoe and having good stability. Thank you for your impact, I may look into getting a pair myself in the future.”
“Have you looked at the GT 2000 v12? It’s a pretty big update. As for the Hokas, I think the Arahi is a much better shoe than the Gaviota. But get yourself plenty of time to get use to the lower drop. It’s not a huge difference from the GT but if it’s bothering you back off the mileage with it until it doesn’t. I also recommend anyone that uses a stability shoe to look at the Saucony Tempus. If nothing else it makes a good shoe for faster days. I ran a half marathon in a pair and it was fine. I can speak to longer distances with it though. You should be able to find it on sale.”
