Best praise vs top criticism for Hoka Arahi 7
“As a flat footed over pronator I def get how you feel. Got a lot of shin splints when I began running, and mostly wore shoes like the Saucony Omni, Hoka Arahi, among others. They stopped the shin splints but sometimes even in those I'd get knee pain and blisters. Recently I bought more "stable neutral" shoes like the Novablast 4, Superblast and Endorphin Speed 4. I get zero problems in them even though I over pronate. I now believe this is how I shock absorb and is a motion I should let happen (Drs of Running talk a lot about this and they're right). It took over a decade of running to figure this out. Long story short, whether it's a supportive shoe or not, there is a shoe out there that will work for you, no matter how frustrating your legs can be. For me is a more firm , responsive shoe with a little bit of stability. If you strength train your legs, even more shoes will begin to work for you. Have fun! :D”
“If it ain’t broke… why start wearing support shoes if what you had was working? Half marathons with no pain is what you want. I’d ditch the Arahis. I mildly over pronate and was put in support shoes for fifteen years. I now wear exclusively neutral and am running the best I ever have”
