Best praise vs top criticism for Hisense C1
“I get a 120” 4k screen with dolby vision for 1,500$. I can also take it with me anywhere I go. To me that makes it worth every penny. (Hisense Cube C1).”
“IF I could do a projector in a dedicated space, and avoid the hassle of installing/moving/lifting a 100 inch TV, I'd choose projector every time. If the TV breaks/needs repair or say you get it and right away it has an issue or distracting DSE or dead pixels... you're gonna have to lug that thing back out. It's a lot easier to replace a projector every few years and upgrade when necessary. (and no offense to TCL or Hisense, well, what's their track record, ya know. We don't really know how long these larger sets/projectors of theirs will truly last.) These are factors I consider slightly more important than picture quality/size. On that subject, 10 inches is a **big** difference IMO. I'm looking at a 120 inch screen, vs a 130 inch screen on my wall right now while I'm typing this, and the 130 looks and feels much bigger and more engrossing. Just depends on how much having a cinematic experience means to you. I just can't get that with a TV, a projector just *feels* right in that regard, despite picture quality. I also worry about eye fatigue myself on such a large screen, in a dark room, LCD TV's can only get so dim if you start to experience fatigue. I have a 43 inch TCL in my bedroom, and on the lowest possible settings, it can still be slightly annoying at times. So with a good projector, you have a nicer range with a gigantic screen and a softer, more manageable eye experience. A 100 inch TV can certainly get overwhelming to the eye in longer sessions. And with the C1, vs the TCL TV, the picture quality will probably be more comparable than you'd think in a very dark room. So I'd place importance more on size and quality of life factors.”
