tldr; Easy-to-use swaddle with adjustable fit. Velcro can catch on other laundry but overall very effective.

Best praise vs top criticism for Halo SleepSack Swaddle
“You will want to use a swaddle or sleep sack for sleeping overnight. Blankets like this are perfect for naps and cuddling, when the baby is being watched the whole time.”
“For me, absolute must haves (not including the very obvious diapers, wipes, diaper cream, car seat and bassinet/crib) were: - My Brest Friend nursing pillow (I hated the Boppy) - Restoralax and adult diapers (trust me) - Swaddle or sleep sack that has the option for arms to be in or out… my baby hated having her arms inside the swaddle and I’ve read this is not that uncommon - Baby carrier (I like the Mom Cozy one) - Loop ear plugs - Ready to feed formula (saved my sanity when I knew I could give a bit of formula to offset my sore nipples or so my husband could take one of the night feedings… it never impacted my supply and I am still nursing at 18 months) - Bouncer - Burp cloths… these unfortunately are very necessary and you will want like 20 or them or more. In the early weeks you’re wiping up a lot of spit up and you are *constantly* washing them - Powdered oxi-clean for your laundry. Add it to every load. Postpartum sweats, milk smell, baby pee/poop stains… you’ll need it. My nice to haves: - Pack & Play in the living room so we could set baby down for naps and use the change table attachment - Fischer Price piano mat toy… my baby was a big fan but it’s a little expensive so it’s not a necessity but certainly a nice to have Not necessary - An expensive rocking chair/glider… I rarely used it as my baby preferred napping in the carrier and I didn’t really use at night. Now we use the rocking chair for reading books before bed but could have gotten away with an Ikea Poang chair or some cheaper chair that doesn’t have the flip out foot rest, etc. - Tons of receiving blankets… - Baby towels… sure the hooded towels with little bear ears are cute but not necessary at all. Same with wash cloths. - Nursing bras… I much preferred nursing tanks and if I needed a bra, I used the wireless stretchy boob sling style that I could just pull my boob put the top of. I hated the buckles on nursing bras but I also generally hate bras so YMMV.”
