The specific watch would one of two watches in The Citizen line: *AQ4091-56M (indigo washi paper dial) OR *AQ4091-56A (white washi paper dial) Both are Eco-Drive, high accuracy quartz (5 seconds/year with regular wear), 40 mm width case watches with a date complication. I’d pass on Seiko/Grand Seiko because I’d rather get a Spring Drive-powered watch (which I now have; I bought the GS SBGA211, aka the Snowflake, just under two weeks ago).”

+3 pts“"modding" has unfortunately become a catch all description of a couple of things which is unfortunate. Building a watch from scratch with custom parts which does not carry Seiko branding is in my view ok. Building a watch out of AliExpress parts and then slapping a Seiko logo on it isn't ok. Putting a Grand Seiko dial on anything that is not a Grand Seiko isn't modding it's making a Fake which isn't ok despite protests "it's a mod bro!" Replicating another brands pieces and slapping a Seiko logo on it ie: Daytona's with VK movements and almost letter perfect dials, is not modding. Some of this will be contentious but honestly it should t be.”
