There are since advantages to using the built in ones but that's getting into the weeds. There are hundreds of third party watch faces too, some are excellent and lots are mediocre. Unfortunately they do a really bad job of curating their app store. My Fenix 6X died for no reason after about 3 years. The warranty is for 1. I called them to see if maybe there's a trick to fixing it or anything, they just sent me a new one. There are a lot of stories in the Garmin sub like that so I feel pretty comfortable spending the money. I've been using Fenix watches since 2013 or 14, put them through a lot of abuse, they've done well for me. ”
