Best praise vs top criticism for Garmin Enduro 2
“Like half of garmins lineup is probably good for more than 14 days. Instinct line can go infinitely with enough sun and no activity tracking. Enduro is speced for 30 days before solar, my own personal use is at around 26 days and that's with 8+ hours of GPS tracking a week. It does still all come down to trade offs. Garmin doesn't do any lte watches so they can't be used as stand alone replacement to a watch. Also the models I listed are not amoled, although the fenix line does have more than 14 days with amoled. Point is that Garmin has a huge amount of sales and battery life is among the largest reason for the popularity. Tons of people won't put up with 2 day battery life for a watch.”
“Yeah, I tried turning off HR and everything else I don't need on the Enduro but apparently it's solar is too inefficient. I max out the solar gauge for several hours almost daily all year around. Something that is not said anywhere but some office lights also affect the solar on Garmin watches. I suspect they might not use solar in the traditional aspect. There has been some worksites where I have more battery leaving at the end of the day than when I arrived and spend all that time indoors. But I won't trust in that. I was very excited for the Matrix Powerwatch 2 until I saw a couple of youtube videos claiming to debunk it as a scam unfortunately. But it was working as advertised for you?”
