Best praise vs top criticism for Formovie Cinema Edge
โFormovie Cinema Edge is very respectable for $1799 (review here): [https://youtu.be/M-vQKcsd03A](https://youtu.be/M-vQKcsd03A) But the best deal you can get right now on a UST is the Nomvdic P2000 which is currently $1300 on account of the fact that Nomvdic went out of business (review here): [https://youtu.be/Ef0tNjGDoOU](https://youtu.be/Ef0tNjGDoOU)โ
โHere's the 2024 UST comparo by The Hook Up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-vQKcsd03A The Edge did not really do that well. Unsurprising considering the gulf in pricing. I mean, I'm sure it produces something watchable but if you then further cripple it by using a white screen, you will probably not be thrilled. In my personal opinion, the ALR screen is not optional, or borderline not optional at least. There's no question whatsoever that the Pro with the ALR would annihilate the cheap option for quality. Ambient light is not the only reason to go with an ALR - the ALR also literally aims the light towards you, meaning it doesn't bounce nearly as much of it on the walls as a white screen. A white screen radiates light in 180 degrees - and when you hit that white surface with a multi-thousand-lumen flashlight aka your projector, the dark room isn't all that dark. ALR is superior in the daytime, but also (for UST's at least) always superior in the dark. ALR for long throw is also better for those than white, but because it's an entirely different solve for ALR it has drawbacks. ALR for UST is pretty much pure win.โ
