+5 pts“Love my new electric EGO mower, fucking beast better then my petrol one… but in your situation it would not be economically viable or practical to go electric. It chews up 1 battery for the avg yard with charge time about 40 mins I think. Your downtime would be too much, or you’ll need an army of batteries. I hate petrol but yeah probs the best option for you unless you also get an EV and can recharge from it - you’d want at least 2 full batteries at all times. Edit: don’t even think about any 18v electric mower. Really weak. Ryobi 36v is better but still shitty. 56v+ (eg ego, others) are best”

+2 pts“I got a $800 EGO mower (with the cross cut, self pace, etc) and it couldn't finish my 1/3 acre yard on one battery. It was lame having to stop mowing abruptly to swap batteries. It also cut my lawn strangely unevenly which is a common issue, and the auto walk didn't engage half the time. I traded it for a Honda HRN and it's flawless. Zero trouble at all. I wouldn't trade my electric ego trimmer and leafblower for the world but the gas mower is just so much better and less trouble.”
