“Not surprising to me. The site doesn't say what they used but I wouldn't trust most of the "typical" double sided adhesives. If you want to try again I mounted a longer magnetic block with two strips of 0.5” nano tape. It's also called gecko tape and alien tape. In theory it's a really strong hold that shouldn't leave residue behind, and seems to resist humidity better than a lot of pressure sensitive adhesives (ever try a command hook in the bathroom? They always seem to fall off). It's been holding up a 210mm gyuto, Chinese cleaver, a kiwi nakiri, a bread knife and a paring knife for over a year without issue. Not the heaviest knives but not exactly babying it either. I tried VHB originally but it failed after a few days with only my test load of non knife magnetic kitchen objects.”
