Best praise vs top criticism for Beyerdynamic TYGR 300 R
โNo need for specs. Just wanted to know if it was a Switch, PS, PC, Xbox... Here are a few recomendations : Closed : * DT770 + amp + external mic (great bass and comfort, but non detachable long cable if you get the 80 or 250 Ohm versions), * ModHouse Argon MK3 * HyperX Cloud Alpha (more budget oriented but still a great choice) * MH752 (more budget oriented but still a great choice) OPEN : * PC38x(although its predecessor the PC37x is going for 90$ on drop as of today) * X2HR(great imaging, fantastic bass) * Beyerdynamic TYGR (these are headphones specifically made for gaming and I think they are on amazon in a bundle with a really good mic for 300) * DT880 600 Ohm + amp (really good headphones but need a powerful amp to get the most out of them) * HD58x + external mic * HD6xx + amp + external mic External Mics : Antlion ModMic (goes with everything), VModa BoomPro (only goes with headphones with a 3.5mm input) Side note : you may have noticed I don't specify any amps. That's because I don't know enough about them. Just created another post with : What should I get with this pair and the more experienced members of the community may help. Also recommend posting in r/HeadphoneAdvice. Edit : Oh wait didn't see the wireless part. Oops, if he doesn't want any wireless headphones here's a list of good wired headphones. For wireless : HyperX Cloud Flight Arctis Wireless lineup GSP 670 Logitech G Pro X Wirelessโ
โI used an Audeze Penrose and returned it due to the same reason. Mids are too honky, barely any soundstage, imaging below par, and really heavy to boot. If you want them to sound better, you can eq them to lower the mids by around 3db. I suggest Sennheiser PC38X from Drop for a good gaming headphone. In case you have your own mic (such as the wireless modmic), you can buy any open-back headphone such as Sennheiser 58X, 599SE, Philips SHP9500, X2HR, Bayer TYGR 300R, etc. Take comfort into primary consideration because they all sound fabulous. Lastly look to invest in headphone DAC/amp combo such as the Atom stack/Schitt Magni/Modi, or Schitt Hel. This is the last step towards achieving peak sound quality.โ
